Larry: This one speaks to me of safety. Like the seal
has everything under control. You are sealed and safe when you stay here.
Brett: I would agree, but it speaks more to me of fun and games.
Clearly it's a playful seal and the ball invites to come over and play. The
playfulness of this is also reflected in the curvy back of the seal looking
like some kind of fun slide at the park. This isn't to say there isn't the
strength and safety you speak of. The strength of the seal's upright
position, the perfect balance of the ball and the parallel lines of the
signage all speaks to me of the safety that beckoned to you.
Larry: Add to that the "Free phones, HBO and Dial". Not sure if they
are referring to a dial-tone with the phone or to the supplied antibacterial
soft soap included with every room.
Brett: I would hope it was antibacterial soap. This is a hotel on
good ol' 99 and we all know what kind of clientele they bring...I think I
stayed here for a couple hours once... But sadly the sign actually says "dail"
not dial. A misspelling of Dale as in "Over hill, over dale" something,
something, something... |
Your Comments:
Marilynn: I would say the "Dail" was "Daily" and the "y" fell off.
Cathy: The "Dail" has to mean "daily." The "y" has obviously fallen off. It should read "Daily and week rate." Easy to figure out. Cute sign too.
Brett and Larry invite
you to comment on this sign.
(but check back in a week or so and we will post your sign-o-log). Please don't use any fancy html in your comment as it will all be removed before posting.
