Larry: It is so sad to see these signs just rusting away in their last days. Maybe that car is the last guy to stay there and drinking the refreshing Coca-cola so thoughtfully provided. What do you think?
Brett: I think he's there to break into the Coke machine, that's what I think. Either that or there's an auction going on and he's the only one there bidding on a few dozen "color" TVs from the '60s. It is too bad that the sign is rusting away, but it adds a nice visual texture to the overall composition of the sign. It brings the warm tones of the lower rectangles up into the amorphous blue section integrating the overall composition pretty darn successfully.
Larry: I've been staring at that Blue section for several minutes now.....
Brett: Yep, there are no words...
Larry: Won't somebody call that Richard Ellis number and save this place?
Brett: Somebody should have a telethon to rescue unwanted motels. This is a tragedy that runs the risk of having an important part of classic Americana fade away into the rust flakes of time. I wonder if Jerry Lewis is available.
